I am Dr. Teju Kiran, and I currently serve as the Chair of the Department of Human Resources and Associate Professor of Management at Global Business School, a renowned MBA institution in North Karnataka, affiliated with Karnataka University, Dharwad. With over 15 years of experience in higher education, training, consultancy and research, I hold a Doctorate in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior from Karnataka University.
I hold a Ph.D. in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior from Karnatak University, Dharwad (2019). In addition to my doctoral studies, I cleared the KSET (Karnataka State Eligibility Test) in 2014. I have also completed a Certificate Course in Human Resource Development and Training from Symbiosis Center for Distance Learning, Pune (2014). My academic background includes an MBA with a major in Human Resource Management and a minor in Marketing from Karnatak University, Dharwad (2007-09
I bring with me 15 years of comprehensive experience in the fields of teaching, training, research, and consultancy. Over the years, I have had the privilege of educating and mentoring students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, developing and delivering specialized training programs for professionals, conducting impactful research in human resource management and organizational behavior, and providing consultancy services to various organizations.
I have received several prestigious awards and recognitions throughout my career, reflecting my dedication to academia, research, and leadership in the field of Human Resource Management. I was honored with the “Best Professor in Human Resource Management” award by the Asia Pacific HRM Congress in Bangalore on October 26, 2021. Additionally, I was recognized for my Outstanding Commitment and Performance in Research by Teachers Mitra Trust, Dharwad on October 16, 2022. I was also acknowledged with a Chairperson Recognition for my role in chairing the workshop on “Labor Relations,” organized by the Nava Karnataka Confederation of Industries and Commerce and Gram Vikas Society on March 26, 2022.
My research contributions were also celebrated with Best Paper Award for my paper titled “Workplace Spirituality and Performance,” presented at the International Conference held at IBMR Hubli in 2023, and Best Paper Award in National Conference for the title “Organizational Citizenship Behavior” at GBS Hubli in 2024. Furthermore, I was appointed as a Member of the Doctoral Committee at Global Business School, Hubli, in 2023, which further strengthened my involvement in the research community.
I have had the privilege of conducting training sessions for over 2,000 students and more than 1,000 working professionals on a wide array of topics aimed at developing both soft and technical skills.
I was truly delighted to be a part of the Women@Work Leaders Roundtable held on 29th August 2024 (Thursday) at Hotel Denissons. The event was hosted by the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), in collaboration with the Department of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T, and the Department of Skill Development, Government of Karnataka (GoK). The roundtable was part of the Women@Work initiative, aimed at empowering and fostering leadership among women professionals and entrepreneurs across the state.
My training experience includes:
a. Leadership Development, Team Building, Interpersonal Skills, and Personality Development sessions for organizations and educational institutions, including EID Parry, Weir BDK, IOC Bank, V-Tech Power Hydraulics, TIE Hubli, SSC Computers, and Corporation Bank.
b. Career Development workshops, focusing on job opportunities, goal congruence, and self-development for more of female students at GH College, ASS College, and Sukruti School, empowering them with the tools for professional success.
c. Specialized training in Organizational Behavior, designed for both students and professionals, aimed at improving workplace dynamics, communication, and organizational effectiveness.
I have provided valuable consultancy services across various industries, delivering strategic insights and operational improvements for several organizations. Notable projects include:

I have made significant contributions to the field of Human Resource Management through various research studies and presentations by writing 41 research papers in National and International Conferences.
I have consistently contributed to the academic community through various roles, initiatives, and academic service. Some of my key contributions include:
• Board of Examination Member: Served on the Board of Examination for the Management Department at Karnataka University, Dharwad, in 2023. I have also been a Viva-Voce Examiner for the MBA program from 2019 to 2023.
• Chaired and Moderated MDP: I chaired and moderated a Management Development Program on “Apprenticeship, Employment, and Entrepreneurship” organized by the Nava Karnataka Confederation of Industries and Commerce, Talentree India, and Gram Vikas Society on March 26, 2022, focusing on HR professionals and CEOs.
• External Examiner & Guest Speaker: Served as External Examiner for the BBA 3rd semester students at Global BBA College, Hubli (2014). Delivered a Guest Lecture on management and leadership at IBMR Hubli during the event “Armageddon” (2014). Judge for the talent event “Utkrashta – An Ultimate Talent” (2012), encouraging talent recognition and excellence. Served as Resource Person and Judge at KLE’s K F Patil Institute of Business Administration for the event “Purana E Zamana” (2012), speaking on the importance of HR in contemporary business. Conducted a Personality Development Workshop for students at KLE’s G H College, Haveri (2014), helping students build essential personal and professional skills.

• Job Satisfaction and Business Development, Presented at KIMS Dharwad. This presentation explored the link between job satisfaction and business development, emphasizing how employee satisfaction can influence organizational performance and contribute to business growth. Key themes included employee engagement, motivation, and the role of HR practices in driving business success.
• Career Anchor Congruence in North Karnataka Professionals. Paper contest at Anveshan, PES Bangalore. This research focused on the concept of career anchors – the values and motivations that guide professional decisions. The study specifically examined how career anchor congruence impacts the career paths of professionals in North Karnataka, offering insights into career planning and personal development in the region.
• Organizational Citizenship Behavior, Job Satisfaction, and Turnover Intentions, Published in Strategies for Social and Sustainable Competitive Advantage in the Globalized Era (2015). This paper analyzed the relationship between Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), job satisfaction, and employees’ intentions to leave an organization. It highlighted how job satisfaction can act as a mediator in fostering OCB and how this, in turn, affects turnover intentions.
• Influence of Demographics on Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy, Published in Strategies for Social and Sustainable Competitive Advantage (2015). The study examined how demographic factors like age, gender, education, and cultural background influence individuals’ confidence in their career decision-making processes. The findings emphasized the importance of tailoring career development programs to demographic nuances.

This paper explored how human resource practices, including training, performance appraisals, and compensation strategies, impact job satisfaction in public sector undertakings. • Stay Interviews: Case of ABC Hotel Hubli, Published in International Journal of Research in Computer Applications and Management (2014). This case study analyzed the implementation of stay interviews at ABC Hotel Hubli, focusing on how these interviews were used as a tool to retain employees by understanding their concerns and improving their work experience.

• Organizational Commitment and Job Involvement at AB Label Pvt. Ltd, Published in International Current Research (2016). This study revisited AB Label Pvt. Ltd., further analyzing the relationship between organizational commitment, job involvement, and employee performance. It concluded that higher levels of job involvement and organizational commitment were positively correlated with job satisfaction and retention.
